Love hockey? We've got the session to show you! Reed is a senior at Westerville North High School, and after many years of playing hockey, he is now a varsity player on the Westerville Warcats hockey team. There would be no better way to show off this interest of his than on the ice at the Chiller Ice Rink itself! So that's exactly what we did.

Reed has been playing hockey for years, most recently as a member of the Westerville Warcats varsity hockey team, which plays at the Chiller locations in Central Ohio. As any hockey family knows, getting ice time can be extremely challenging! Somehow we lucked out and scored a slot after school at the Chiller North Ice Rink for some senior pictures!

Reed and his mom were a good sport as I walked SLOWLY onto the ice (I am not a hockey player or even really a great skater) with my camera to get some action shots!
I also had him do a few poses with the hockey goal and I think that was a really fun use of the net.
I wanted to be sure to get some variety in photos of Reed while we were on the ice at the hockey rink, and I think we nailed it! Honestly it was hard for all of us to choose a favorite senior picture in his hockey jersey, but these were all contenders.

I came to this session prepared with a list of ideas, but we also go with the flow as we move through poses and anyone has an idea. We were able to get so many different poses with his hockey equipment and out on the ice in a super short period of time before a team arrived with skates and gear for their hockey practice. As we were heading off the ice, his mom had an idea to do a photo in this spot and it turned out so great! I love taking a collaborative approach during sessions because sometimes parents and seniors have really awesome ideas!
